Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026  •  Effective: May 2026

AskEducation ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use askeducation.in, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. We comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us — when you submit an enquiry, register, request a callback, book a counselling session, or contact us, we collect details such as your name, mobile number, email address, course interest, mode of study (online / distance / regular), city/state, and any message you send.

Information collected automatically — when you visit our site, we automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent, UTM parameters, and similar log data via cookies and analytics tags.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry, share course/university details, and connect you with admission counsellors
  • To verify identity, prevent fraud, and maintain security
  • To send you administrative communications (e.g. application status, callback confirmations)
  • To send you marketing communications about courses, universities, scholarships and admission deadlines — only with your consent, and you may opt out at any time
  • To improve our website, services, and user experience using aggregated, anonymised analytics
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. Sharing your information

We share your enquiry details with the specific universities, colleges or counselling partners relevant to the course/programme you requested information about, so they can contact you with admission details. We may also share data with:

  • Service providers who host our infrastructure, send emails/SMS, run analytics, or process payments — bound by confidentiality
  • Government or regulatory authorities, when required by law
  • Third parties as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — with notice to you

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use first-party and third-party cookies (Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation, conversion tracking) to understand how visitors use our site and to improve services. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some functionality.

5. Data retention

We retain enquiry and account data for as long as needed to provide services and meet legal/audit requirements (typically up to 5 years from last interaction). Server logs are retained for up to 12 months.

6. Your rights (DPDP Act 2023)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erase your personal data, subject to lawful retention requirements
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights in the event of your death or incapacity
  • Lodge a grievance with our Data Protection Officer (details below)

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — TLS (HTTPS) for all data in transit, encrypted databases, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews — to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure or loss. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, please contact us at info@askeducation.in and we will delete it promptly.

9. International transfers

Your data is primarily processed and stored in India. Where we use service providers located outside India, we ensure adequate safeguards consistent with the DPDP Act.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be notified through the website or by email.
